| I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, ever since I was
a little girl; understanding that being a teacher is a lifetime commitment of dedication
and responsibility I took on the challenge with great enthusiasm and passion. Since 1990,
the year I started my career I have seen many transitions in the field of education.
Educators of the twenty-first century, unlike those of previous generations, are called
upon to wear many hats throughout their career. We are first and foremost teachers, then
guides, motivators, leaders, guardians, and good listeners. I have since left the
classroom with over twenty years of experience to venture into another aspect of
education: administration. This job is very much like teaching although my classroom is
much larger and my students are more varied. Although this job is filled with enormous
responsibility---it also brings in tremendous rewards greater than those realized in any
other profession. My schooling entails a BA in English with a minor in Education, a MS in English and secondary education, and a MS in Education Administration. My tenure as a teacher includes an eleven year stay at Herbert H. Lehman High School in the Bronx, a 5 year stint at Pope John XXIII in Sparta, before venturing into my administration career here at Kittatinny Regional High School starting in 2006. I am excited to be a part of such an academically accelerated team of likeminded people, and I look forward to serving the Kittatinny Regional High School community for many years to come. |
